AsterFax™ - Asterisk Fax |
Supported File FormatsAsterFax supports a growing number of file formats which can be included as an email attachment and subsequently faxed by AsterFax.The following table lists the set of currently supported formats that ship with AsterFax. Support for a number of these file formats is dependant on third party software. The two main tools used are OpenOffice and Ghostscript. OpenOffice is responsible for converting such file formats as MS-Word and MS-Excel to a PDF file. Ghostscript is then used to convert PDF files to a tiff file ready for transmission. Both of these tools (OpenOffice and Ghostcript) can easily be substituted with other tools which provide similar functionality if desired. AsterFax also provides a simple mechanism to add your own file formats by defining a Converter. You can read more on defining Converters here.

AsterFax™
is a trade mark of Asterisk I.T..
I'm
not a great believer in Trade Marking Open Source software but
unfortunately someone has been running a scam to redirect traffic to a
bogus AsterFax web site. As such I've trade marked AsterFax's name to
provide protection from such people.
