AsterFax™ - Asterisk Fax |
RoadmapThe following notes are meant to provide some idea of the general direction in which I intend to take AsterFax. The roadmap is likely to change as additional user feed back comes in. One of my highest priorities to ensure that AsterFax provide a system that is simple to install and simple to use. I think AsterFax is doing fairly well on the simple to use facet but needs a fair bit of work on the simple to install end of the game.As of Beta 6 AsterFax has a robust set of features and has been implemented into a number of Production environments. The final release of Version 1 is expected by mid May. I will update this list from time to time. Version 1.0 Release Due Mid May 2006Clean up of existing features and any bug fixes.Asterisk natively supports routing of faxes via email. Inclusion of this feature in AsterFax is to provide a single simple and consistent install for all fax requirements. Support for incoming fixes and routing to email addresses based on DID. Configuration of routes will support the following methods: Routing of all incoming faxes to a single mailbox. AsterFax.xml entries mapping DID to email address Archival of inbound faxes to a single mailbox. Version 1.1Web Interface (Apache/PHP - I think)Provides list/view of sent/received faxes based on simple user policies (who can see whose faxes). Management of AsterFax.xml via web interface Enhance routing to include database mapping via any JDBC driver and provision of custom 'select statement'. Version 1.2SOA based API for management of faxes.OCR to convert incoming faxes to Text. |

AsterFax™
is a trade mark of Asterisk I.T..
I'm
not a great believer in Trade Marking Open Source software but
unfortunately someone has been running a scam to redirect traffic to a
bogus AsterFax web site. As such I've trade marked AsterFax's name to
provide protection from such people.
